42nd Annual Carytown Watermelon Festival
Sunday, August 11 beginning at 10am

Information

With over 115,000 people in one area over the course of a day in Virginia, there are bound to be some questions. Where to park? Times of the bands? Can we bring a pet? Here are some answers for you.

What are the times of the Carytown Watermelon Festival?
10am-6pm

Where is parking for the event?
Parking is always a challenge for the Carytown Watermelon Festival.   Park on side streets surrounding Carytown. You can also look for parking decks located within the area. Please be aware of NO PARKING SIGNS in the area and DO NOT PARK in the Kroger Parking lot located near the entrance of Carytown. Towing will be enforced.

Are there areas to purchase watermelon slices?
Yes. The Shriners will have five units of Shriners selling watermelon by the bowl for $1. Look for the men in red fez’ on the north side of Cary Street, who are supporting our local community in need by selling slices of sweet, red watermelon.

What about pets?
We encourage you not to bring your pets.

What is the cost of the event?
Admission is free, but bring cash for watermelon slices and other street vendor specials. ATM’s will be on site.
